Day #3 Wolves, Rats, and Fried Pickles!

Spring Break Day #3.......

We started the day with alot of this.......

After we got our motors running we dropped Riley with her friends at The Great Wolf Lodge for a fun Spring Break Sleepover!

Well, then I'm left with a very sad little Hallie May who sees her Spring Break Day #3 as "stuck with mom"! So...what to do?? What to do?? What makes every little girl happy?? Shopping and eating!! Mmmmmm! Scrumptious!! So...we set off for Justice and some new swimsuits (before all the cute ones are g-o-n-e), Old Navy for some cute "green" to wear tomorrow, Target for just the shear joy of being in Target! then to Snuffers for some fried pickles and cheeseburgers! Ahhhhhh! Who needs waterparks and wolves when ya got FRIED PICKLES and tank-kinis!? Please...will ya tell me!??

After emptying my wallet and filling our tummies, we went home to enjoy the rest of this warm, beautiful weather playing outside. On our arrival, we found dad & this...........

the pesky little RAT fella who has been making all the racket up in the attic! GOTCHA!

Sunday Day #2: The Day of Rest and Mall Cops!

Spring Break Day 2:

Today, the "devil" made me oversleep and we missed church. Apparently, mud was running through my veins because I didn't get moving until 4pm!! Luckily, "Mall Cop" didn't start until 4:55pm!

Also, (sort of) lucky for me... it was an all-day marathon of "Jon & Kate: Plus 8" which kept the girls entertained as I slugged around all afternoon. (That woman is really ugly to her husband, which really started getting on my nerves and is pretty much what got me movin', so we could turn off TLC and get to the movies!) Tomorrow, Riley has a sleepover at "The Great Wolf Lodge" with some friends, so I have to be super creative to match that one with Miss Hallie here!!
Stay tuned..........

Spring Break Day 1....Bathtub Fishing!

Today is "Day One" of Spring Break. I decided that I would try to blog each day of our Spring Break to help me keep a log of what we did over the week....

We are still very much on our "Cheerleader High" around here from yesterday's exciting and very rewarding Middle School cheerleader try-outs, but as real life would have it...today I had to go to work. The girls came up with some fun on their own while I was getting ready to go.......

Bathtub Fishing.

Hallie filled up the bathtub, found some shampoo that bubbled up nicely, got her fishin' pole out and got after it. She was standing there, acting like she was on the shores of Grapevine Lake, talking to herself about "how nothing was biting today", "Oh..look at the size of that one hiding under that big bubble"....she even balanced her pole "tub-side" at one point, ran off while instructing me to...... "Call me if I get a bite." I just had to crack up!

After returning home around midnight, I found the "fishing trip" to be "aborted" for the time being.......but by looking at the bathroom setup, it appears that she'll be back at it tomorrow.......we can only hope that the "Big One" will be biting!

What a Happy Friday the 13th!

We kicked off Spring Break today...it is Friday the 13th, but it turned out to be a great, fun, and very exciting day!! Riley tried out for 7th grade cheerleader and she made it! The squad will be made up of (18) 7th grade girls. She tried out today at 4pm and our sweet friends the Higgins came over to fret with us until the results were posted online at 9:17pm! The time from 4pm to 9:17pm seriously felt like 3 years! We are so excited for her and the fun times that are ahead! CHEERS YA'LL!!

The WILDCATS Wild Winning Streak!

Softball season is in full swing and so are those WILDCATS! They are on fire and have won their first two games...not just WON them, but SMOKED the other teams! The first game's score was 14-7 and Tuesday's game ended with a 20-2 win over the Sun Devils! The girls play so well together and the coaches are great! We have a new pitcher this season ...and he's pretty good-lookin' too!!

Totally Stylin'

Word on the "Mad Mama Street" is that Mattel has come out with a new more "colorful" Barbie...."Totally Stylin' Tattoos Barbie". She comes complete with her own "tattoo gun" so the kids can tattoo Barbie all up wherever they want. Apparently, this new doll has some outraged while others can't get to the store fast enough! They have flown off the shelves in New York already! Much like the world itself, Barbie has changed quite a bit over the past 50 years....
Barbie has been a Dr., a cheerleader, a bride, a vet, a teacher, a showgirl, even a Nascar fan.....the latest controversial Barbie doesn't come too terribly far behind the previous Barbie that had mamas mad everywhere...who can forget "Midge" the first PREGNANT BARBIE!
I must have missed that public outrage, (that was so huge it caused "Midge" to actually be pulled from the shelf), because I was out BUYING a few of them!! Good Heavens! Guess I won't be up for any "Parent of the Year" awards with these "hussies" in our toybox! Please note that I did purchase this......

before I purchased this........................
just remember...it's all in the presentation.....all in the presentation! I have a feeling the same little gal who wanted "Midge" will be wanting "Ms. Totally Stylin' " too!

Yeeeee-Ouch!

So I suddenly remember why I don't like going to the Dr......

He fixed it alright! But I am glad to get that thing out of my thumb and put that "pine needle" behind me! No more LIVE Christmas Trees in this house!
