On this morning we found the elves having some crazy fun, ZIPLINING from the living room ceiling fan to the kitchen light.

We welcomed Winslow back the day after Thanksgiving

Living across from an elementary school, the pressure is on each year to make the WEB better than the last!

These Hands

These Hands.....

raised my dad.

were making a pan of cornbread and putting my sister down for a nap on the day that I was born.

have worked long hours in the field on the family farm.

held me and wiped my tears on the day that my house burned and I lost my very favorite tricycle.

These Hands.....

held on for dear life as her heart wanted to give up many years ago.

played for hours with mine in the kitchen with a big tub of flour.

have logged many hours on the Nintendo game controller.

clapped for me over and over again as I jumped around the front yard.

have held and loved on both of my babies.

once broke when picking up a very large cantalope in the garden.

These Hands....

always patted my back when I came over to their house and took a nap.

have written many letters to friends over the years.

welcomed me into the house almost every single day of my life before I got married.

taught me how to shell a lot of peas.

have built many kitchen cabinets for extra space.

swatted my rear a few times when I was a kid.

These Hands......

taught me how to drive.

have smoked a lot of cigarettes.

took me on many rides on the "hoopty-do".

have held the Holy Bible close as each word was read.

have guided me, hugged me, and loved me for almost 40 years.

have been known to flip "the bird" on more than one occasion.

These Hands.....

have carried some long big sticks as we went on walks down the lane together.

baked many chocolate pies.

canned a lot of fruit preserves.

have wrapped many strips of fabric in my hair to make the perfect curl.

have prayed for me and many others through the years.

But now These Hands have aged, grown weak & tired, and are unable to do anything for themself. I am so very sad, but so very grateful for the countless things that I have learned from them. I love These Hands and the precious grandma that goes with them. I will treasure and be thankful for each moment that I still have to hold onto them.

Homecoming!

Mums, bells, feathers, and football!

Last week was homecoming and it was a fun week of shopping for ribbon, hot gluing fingers together, and tying on lots of bells! It was fun and the girls had a blast!

Celebrating 16 years in Hochatown!

September 9th, we celebrated 16 fabulous years together by heading to HOCHATOWN! We rented the cutest little cabin and had the BEST time together!

Hochatown (right out of Broken Bow, OK) has a little something for everyone.....

Glen was happy....

and I was happy.....

We shared a picnic at the lake with some really aggressive biting flies, went for a walk and found some guineas, watched movies, discovered a cool really old statue, and sat for a long time watching the hummingbirds fight over the feeder.

Our cabin was so adorable and had the coolest stone fireplace that we had ever seen!

I kind of fell in love with Hochatown and fell in love with my sweetheart of 16 years all over again!!

Happy Anniversary to my dearest, bestest friend in the world!

We've Come A Long Way Baby!

Since your first day of Sonshine Academy! Baby Diana was right by your side the whole day, wiping your tears on her sleeve!

Now you are a Freshman in high school! Where is that Baby Diana, so I can wipe MY tears on her sleeve?! I love you so much and I am so proud of the beautiful lady that you are becoming! These will be the BEST years of your life! Enjoy each and every moment! I know I will!WOW! 5th grade! Seems like a blink ago you were holding that gobby & my neck so tight, not letting me go as I took you to your first day of Sonshine!! You are such a beautiful spunky 10 year old! I love and adore the way you still allow me to be by your side!! I am so proud of the little lady that you are growing up to be! Enjoy this last year of Elementary School, Middle School will be here before you know it! and TRUST ME! You will be ready!!
I love both of you with all of my heart and soul! You make me so proud to be your mom!! It's going to be one amazing, but speedy fast year!! Let's just hang on and have some fun!!

My Day in Instagrams!

We were only 2 days away from breaking a Heat Wave Record, when suddenly the clouds rolled in on Thurday afternoon.....

The temp dropped and we watched & waited for the rain that never came......

Hallie even pulled out her hat when the temps took a dive into the low 90's, but soon the clouds rolled on, the sun came out, and we were 2 days shy of breaking a record.......
So it was back to the pool.
Suffering through 40 days of 100+ degree weather deserves some kind of recognition.
As one of my FB friends put it: "It felt like winning the Silver Medal, when we should've won the GOLD!"

We are all signed up for 5th grade, only ONE MORE YEAR at CES!and for Riley......

Summer 2011

As the sun sets once again on one of the fastest summers EVER...we smile at all the great times that we have had so far.......Practicing our driving on the back roads of Granbury.
Spending time at the lake with our dear friends and family.
Sleeping late late late!
Celebrating 7/11 with FREE slurpees.
Eating lots of Fuzzy's Tacos......
and running into childhood friends who also loves him some Fuzzy's.
Hitting the local waterparks and riding the slides that scare us the most!
Going to Camp Thurman and sort of liking it and sort of NOT.
Going to see a few movies, when it was too hot outside to even breathe!
Cheering the Rangers on to a victory with sweet friends!
Celebrating 40 years of friendship with best friends!
Just plain spending time together with my 2 favorite girls in the whole world!
We love summer and will savor these last 2 weeks!
