Lil' Dab of Coca~Cola & A Smoke..........

Meet Grandma Grace & PePa.

On May 11th, 1946 they became husband and wife.

They are my grandparents and were my next door neighbors for 24 years.
Needless to say, we are very close. I love these 2.

They were always there for me as I was growing up.
They drove me to school if I missed the bus and mom wasn't home to take me.

They always met me after school to ask, "What did you learn today?"

She taught me how to drive in an old green Buick.

She let me smoke my 1st cigarette, and taught me my 1st curse words.

She taught me & my best friend about the "Birds & the Bees" one day while out taking a spin in that old green Buick.

She would always let me play in the flour while she baked in the kitchen.
She taught me how important it was to read my Bible.

He helped me plant my 1st garden; he tilled, while I planted.

They'd take me "crawdad" fishing with an old piece of bacon & some string.

She let me cry in her arms when my tricycle burned up in our house fire when I was 4.

She taught me that Vicks Vapor Rub in your nose and a pillow between your knees will put you right to sleep.

She was always quick to remind me that the song "Amazing Grace" was about HER!

She gave me my most memorable piece of advice while I was pregnant with my 1st baby about managing morning sickness, she advised, "a lil' dab of Coca~Cola and smoke on my cigarette would always make me feel better!"

Today, they are still in love, but unable to be together.
He is 89, still living on his farm. My girls and I love to go rambling around here and there on his Mule cart with him.
She lives in a Nursing Home unable to remember what she had for lunch.
I miss her wild & crazy mind and her fun free-spirit, but I know she is still in there.

One of the last visits we had with her, she looked at my oldest daughter, unable to recall her name, and said, "Wow! You're really getting the zits & tits now, aren't you?!"

Happy Anniversary to my sweet Grandma Grace & Pepa!
I Love You Both So Much!
